Ahmet Fatih Ortakaya is a Senior Social Protection Specialist at the World Bank, with 17 years of implementation, research, and policy development experience. Before joining the World Bank, he worked as a consultant at the OECD and with the Turkish government. He led several projects to reform Turkey’s Social Safety Nets - targeting reforms and building Turkey’s Integrated Social Assistance System, to name a few. Currently, he leads the World Bank’s efforts on social safety net reforms in Saudi Arabia and co-leads large-scale cash transfer programs in Lebanon and Albania. His main interests are program design and implementation, social protection delivery systems, job-matching algorithms, targeting approaches, and predictive analytics. He holds a Ph.D. in statistics from Turkey’s Middle East Technical University.
