Aishwarya is a consultant with the World Bank’s Education Global Practice and the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery unit. She primarily works on projects related to education and maternal and child health globally. As part of the Education GP, she provides research and technical support to projects on enhancing teachers’ professional development using technology in low-resource contexts, students’ financing, and public expenditure reviews. In her role as a researcher on the GFDRR team, she provides data analysis and research support to understand the impacts on natural disasters on child health outcomes and building community resilience to disaster events.
Prior to joining the Bank, Aishwarya worked in the private sector for three years managing a loans portfolio, financing urban local bodies for clean technology projects, and women entrepreneur loans at a financial institution in India.
She holds an M.A. in International and Development Economics at Yale University and a B.A. in Economics from St. Xaviers College, Mumbai, India.
