Alaa Tartir is the Program Director of Al-Shabaka: The Palestinian Policy Network. Tartir is also a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva, Switzerland. Between 2010 and 2015, Tartir served as Researcher in International Development Studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where he earned his PhD. Tartir’s research interests include political economy of development and international aid, state-building and governance reform in conflict-affected areas, securitised development, political economy of occupied Palestine, and the Arab-Israeli Conflict.
