Alassane Sow, who is from Senegal, is the World Bank’s Country Manager for Cambodia.

Mr. Sow worked in France, Israel, Mexico, China, the United States, Kuwait, and also in the African region.  Some of his previous positions include: Country Manager for Sudan (2010 - 2012); Lead Operations Officer for Agriculture and Rural (2008-2010); Country Manager for Burundi (2003 – 2008); and Senior Agriculture Economist.

Before joining the World Bank, Mr. Sow was an economist with Rhone-Poulec Agro, a French multinational firm. He was also an economist with the Ministry of Finance of Senegal. Previously, Mr. Sow was also a researcher in the Department of Agricultural Economics of Michigan State University.

Mr. Sow graduated from Michigan State University with a Master’s Degree in Agriculture Economics.
