Alejandra Campero is a consultant with the World Bank Group. She has worked on both analytical and operational activities related to disaster risk financing, social protection, and inclusive insurance in several countries in Africa and Latin America. She works with governments to promote policy dialogue and develop tailored financial solutions to improve their financial resilience to natural disasters and crises. She also works with the IFC to advise private sector actors on scaling up climate insurance through the use of parametric insurance solutions. Prior to joining the World Bank Group, Alejandra was an ODI Fellow at the National Treasury of South Africa. She also worked as an economist at the Central Bank of Mexico. She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico and an MSc in Economics for Development from the University of Oxford.
