Alejandro Drexler is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the McCombs School of Business in the University of Texas at Austin. His research interests include access to finance, bank structure and regulation, and financial market development. Prior to joining UT,he was an economist at the Chile Department of Commerce. He has worked as a consultant for the Chile Central Bank, and the World Bank. He has conducted impact evaluations in a wide range of financial institutions, covering financial literacy training, microenterprise programs, and government credit programs. He holds a M.A. in economics from the Universidad de Chile, and a Ph.D. in finance from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
