Alexander Dixon became the Director of DIA (formerly Rockefeller Foundation-Aspen Institute Diaspora Program) in November 2013. In addition to designing and implementing research and operations, Alex provides DIA with strategic leadership and guidance and manages the coordination of the program with the Rockefeller Foundation. Alex has over 25 years of experience in the fields of international development and international investing. Most recently, he served as the Senior Advisor to USAID and prior to that he was the Vice President for Africa at the Small Enterprise Assistance Fund (SEAF). Alex has held several management positions at Automated Business Systems and Services (ABSS), the African Development Foundation (ADF), Framlington Asset Management, and the West Africa Growth Fund; in addition to establishing his own investment banking firm in Ghana. He graduated with an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and earned his BSBA in Finance and Management Information Systems from American University.
