Alexandra Horst is a Senior Economist in the World Bank’s Agriculture and Food Global Practice working on food security and food systems transformation. Alexandra leads the efforts around the Global Food and Nutrition Security Dashboard, which serves as resource- and information-sharing platform of the Global Alliance for Food Security. Previously, she held positions in the World Bank’s Independent Evaluation Group and the Agriculture and Food Global Practice’s Latin America and Caribbean and the Eastern Europe and Central Asia regions, where she provided operational and analytical support on agricultural modernization, rural competitiveness, digital agriculture, sustainable productive landscapes, and rural irrigation. Alexandra holds a PhD in Development Economics from ETH Zurich, a Master of Science in Economics from Maastricht University, and a post-graduate Certificate of Advanced Studies in International Economic Policy Research from the Kiel Institute for the World Economy.
