Ms. Alice Joan Brooks is a Senior Economist in the World Bank Nepal Country office. Ms. Brooks joined the World Bank in 2016 as a Senior Economist with the credit risk department in Washington, DC, where she was the country coordinator for ten IBRD and IDA countries globally, as well as a standing voting member of the sovereign risk committee spanning all Bank countries. Alice has previously worked as an economist with the US Exim Bank, USAID, Barclays Bank, the Bolivian Central Bank, and the Bolivian Ministry of Finance. Her first international experience was as a math and science high school teacher with the US Peace Corps in Cameroon, where she developed her lifelong commitment to helping communities and countries achieve their development goals.
A US national, Alice holds degrees in mathematics and economics from the University of Alabama in Huntsville and the American University.
