Alison Schafer is a communications expert with years of experience working in journalism and outreach all over the world. She writes blogs, op-eds, and produces videos for various international development organizations. She also does media and presentation training all over the globe, most recently for senior management at the World Bank Group, Cabinet ministers in Armenia, and legislators from Poland, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine. Alison started her career as a TV news reporter. She also teaches journalism at in George Washington’s School of Media and Public Affairs.
Alison has an undergraduate degree in history from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She holds a Master’s from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. Her focus at SAIS was on international relations and international economics.
She lives in DC and has three boys and a very poorly behaved dog.
