Almedina Music is a Senior Economist in the Education Global Practice in the Eastern and Southern Africa Region based in Antananarivo, Madagascar. She currently leads the Madagascar and Comoros education programs and co-leads a regional girls empowerment project. In her previous role in the Middle East and Northern Africa Region, Almedina led the education program in Yemen and coordinated education interventions and research studies in Morocco and Syria. Her operational and analytical work focuses on education in conflict, fragility and climate change, gender and education governance. Between 2011-2017, she worked at the OECD on social mobility and education policy. A German national, Almedina is originally from Bosnia and Herzegovina. She holds a PhD in Economics from Paris School of Economics.
