Dr. Amaka Momah-Haruna is a Girl and Women’s Empowerment (GWE) Senior Specialist at the World Bank Group Health, Nutrition, and Population Global Practice, supporting 4 countries: Nigeria, Liberia, Ghana, and Sierra Leone. She is a public health and international development expert with over 10+years’ experience in global health programming and policy with core expertise in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), HIV/AIDS, adolescent health and gender. Prior to joining the World Bank, she worked for the United Nations supporting countries to strengthen their engagement on women’s and girls’ issues. She holds a Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD) from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, and a master’s degree in public health from the Harvard School of Public Health.
