Amber Hill is a medical student at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Prior to attending medical school, she worked as a Research Associate at the Global Women's Institute at The George Washington University. In this capacity, she contributed to a number of on-going projects that aim to strengthen the global evidence base on effective interventions to prevent and reduce the prevalence of violence against women and girls (VAWG). Her interests lie in the design and implementation of programs at the intersection of gender and health and examining how the health sector can effectively respond to VAWG. She has worked for a number of other organizations, including USAID, WHO, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), International Planned Parenthood Federation/Western Hemisphere Region, Curamericas in Guatemala, and Concern Worldwide in Sierra Leone. She holds an MSPH from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and a BSc in Honors Biophysics from the University of British Columbia.
