Ambika Sharma is a Research Analyst in the World Bank's Africa Gender Innovation Lab (AFR GIL). She is passionate about using research to sharpen and improve operations on the ground, and has experience in impact evaluation and surveys across 6 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. She lived and worked in Botswana evaluating a sugar daddies program for young girls and an educational program for primary school children, and prior to joining GIL she worked with the Poverty GP, leading analysis and policy-oriented writing on fragility and conflict states in Africa. Ambika holds a Masters in Economics for Development from the University of Oxford. Her thesis studied the relationship between women's intrahousehold bargaining power and the take-up of a fertility intervention in Zambia.
