Amira Kazem is a Senior Operations Officer with the Education Global Practice. She has been working on human development since 1998, when she joined the Bank as a human development economist focusing on social protection. Amira has had the privilege of supporting education projects for skills development since 2002, mostly in Egypt and Jordan but also in Yemen and Iraq. Her work in Iraq, in particular, has given her extensive experience of working in a conflict-affected environment. Amira holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from the Maastricht School of Management, a Masters in Economics, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the American University in Cairo.
