Ms. Evans is Head of the Global Food Safety Partnership Secretariat based at the World Bank Headquarters in Washington, DC. She brings more than 30 years experience in international development, focusing on food safety, environment and bio-resources, agriculture and rural development, disaster response, and rural community development.
In addition to her engagement with the World Bank, Ms. Evans has worked with FAO, UNDP, UNEP and private sector clients. Prior to joining the World Bank in 1997, Ms. Evans served as International Environmental Programs Manager for Science Applications International Corporation, a leading US technology and policy consulting firm. Earlier her career, Ms. Evans developed and coordinated a wide variety of environmental technical assistance and cooperation programs with East European countries and the former Soviet Union during eight years at the US Environmental Protection Agency. She graduated Georgetown University magna cum laude in 1982. Ms. Evans is a US citizen.
