Ana Bellver is a Senior Public Management and Governance specialist with the World Bank. After joining in 2004 as a Young Professional, her career at the Bank has focused on improving accountability and efficiency of public spending in the Latin America and the Caribbean Region and more recently, in the South Asia Region. She has led policy dialogue and operations in a variety of countries, including middle income countries (e.g.Chile, Argentina), low income countries (e.g. Honduras) and fragile states (e.g. Haiti). Prior to joining the World Bank group, Ana worked for three years as field-based advisor to the South African government on public sector reform and restructuring of State-owned enterprises. She received a PhD in Economics from the University of Comillas, Spain, and has MSc in Political Economy from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, UK.
