Ana Maria has over seven years of professional experience in governance, rule of law and public sector reform. For almost five years she has worked in the Governance Practice in the Public Sector and Institutions Unit in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), Africa, and Europe and Central Asia (ECA), where she has closely supported the coordination of technical assistance and policy dialog as part of various operations. She supported the Governance Global Practice initiative, JUPITER, with the development of methodologies to analyze and measure the effectiveness of a country’s judiciary in service delivery. She closely supported an analysis on access to justice in fragile and conflict affected situations. Ana Maria graduated as a lawyer from the Universidad de los Andes (Colombia) and holds a Master of Laws from Georgetown University. Before joining the Bank, she worked as a lawyer in the private and public sectors in Colombia.
