Ana Ocampo is a Social Protection Advisor at the World Food Programme, based in Senegal and covering the Western Africa region. In her current position, her work is focused extensively on shock-responsive and nutrition-sensitive social protection. She advises WFP teams based across nineteen country offices. As part of this role, she is working closely with UNICEF and the WB on Adaptive Social Protection in the Sahel.
Before joining WFP, Ana has worked at FAO’s headquarters supporting country and regional engagement in Central Asia, Eastern, Southern and Western Africa, and Latin America and the Caribbean. She has also contributed to research and policy and programmatic guidance to integrate social protection and agriculture, and the extension of coverage to rural populations. At the World Bank, she has supported social protection projects, focusing mainly on equity and efficiency, in Lesotho, Botswana, Haiti, and Jamaica.
