Anat Lewin is the World Bank’s Global Lead for Digital Safeguards, covering Cybersecurity and Data Protection. She leads a team working on policy advice, analytical research and investment lending activities in Cybersecurity, Data Protection, and Data Governance.
Anat advises developing country governments on establishing good practice policies, strategies, institutional governance frameworks, technical and operational capabilities, and digital skills programs. She works on activities that assist governments to implement reforms backed by World Bank financing.
Anat holds a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University in New York and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of Toronto, Trinity College, in Canada. She studied International Relations at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Advanced Arabic at the University of Jordan in Amman.
Prior to joining the World Bank in 2000, Anat worked for the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, as an ICT Project Manager.
