Andreas is a Flood Risk Expert and Senior Lecturer in the field of risk management, based in Delft, The Netherlands. He contributed to numerous national, international and global flood risk and multi-hazard risk studies, bringing in his expertise on the development and implementation of spatial risk models. After graduating from Bauhaus-University in Weimar (Germany) in 2009, he researched at Technical University of Braunschweig on the risks due to extreme storm surges in coastal areas. Between 2010 and 2013, Andreas supported the Danish Government with the implementation of the European Union Floods Directive. From 2013 to 2019, he worked as a researcher and consultant at the Dutch research institution Deltares. Currently, he is working on his PhD on this topic, with a focus on the role of critical infrastructures in flood risk assessments.
