Andy Stern, formerly president of the 2.2–million-member Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and a member of the Simpson-Bowles Commission, is now the Ronald O. Perelman Senior Fellow at Columbia University’s Richman Center. His work with the SEIU was widely credited for helping to elect President Barack Obama in 2008 and to secure the historic passage of the 2010 Health Care Reform Act. Stern has been named a “top power player” by both Fortune and Washingtonian Magazine, and has been profiled by 60 Minutes, Bill Moyers, Charlie Rose, Business Week, and the New York Times Magazine.
