Angella Montfaucon is the World Bank’s Senior Country Economist for Albania in the Economic Policies Global Department, Europe and Central Asia Region (ECA). She leads macroeconomic monitoring and dialogue on macro-fiscal policy and growth issues, key economic policy papers, notes, and reports, budget support operations, and provides thought leadership on economic development by integrating structural, sectoral, climate, and macroeconomic aspects. Previously, she worked in the Bank’s East Asia and Pacific Region, primarily covering Indonesia, Fiji, Vanuatu, and contributing to projects in the Philippines. Her work included significant contributions to trade policy dialogue and long-term growth analytics. Angella joined the World Bank as a Young Professional in 2019, after working at the Malawian central bank on fiscal operations. She have over 10 years experience and holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Yokohama National University, Japan, and an MA in Economic Policy Management from the University of Zambia.
