Anjali Acharya is a Senior Environmental Specialist in the World Bank’s East Asia and Pacific Region. Based in Singapore, she is working in a regional role currently leading landscape and watershed-level projects in Vietnam and Cambodia. She is also taking the lead on developing East Asia Regional Marine Debris initiatives, including specifically on Indonesia. Over her 20 years at the World Bank, she has worked on a range of environmental issues including pollution management, climate change, water resources management, environmental health, biodiversity, and environmental policies. She has experience leading and working on investment and policy lending projects, and analytical studies in the Africa, East and South Asia, and Latin America and Caribbean regions. She has substantively contributed towards numerous Bank publications on environmental and climate change issues. An Indian national, Ms. Acharya holds a Ph.D. degree in International Environmental Health from Johns Hopkins University and a Master’s degree in Environmental Economics from Duke University.
