Anne T. Kuriakose, Ph.D. is a Senior Social Development Specialist in the Social Sustainability and Inclusion (SSI) unit of the World Bank’s South Asia Region where she serves as Regional Gender Coordinator, including work on the social dimensions of climate change. Since joining the Bank in 2005, Anne has led analytical work on labor, climate adaptation, and social protection, and supported operations in CDD, irrigation, forestry, and climate resilience. Earlier, Anne led the Gender Program of the USD 8.3 billion Climate Investment Funds, and that of the World Bank Climate Group. Her country experience includes work in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Romania, Tajikistan, Cambodia, Vietnam, Chad, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, and Burkina Faso. Prior to joining the Bank, Anne served as advisor to research institutes and NGOs, including the International Water Management Institute, Land Tenure Center, and Oxfam GB. Anne holds a PhD (Wisconsin), M.A. (Sussex), and B.A. (McGill).
