Arlette Simo Fotso is a World Bank Africa Fellow in the Human Capital Project, a global effort to accelerate quality investments in people. Before joining the Human Capital Project, Arlette was Postdoctoral Research Fellow in a joint ICAP/Columbia University & University of Witwatersrand fellowship program, where she worked on the Population-Based HIV Impact Assessments (PHIA) project in 11 Sub-Saharan African countries (Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Malawi, Namibia, Lesotho, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe) to measure the reach and impact of HIV programs. Arlette holds a PhD in Applied Economics. Her research interests are health, education and labour economics and economic demography, with a special focus on disability, HIV, child's health outcomes, family processes and socio-economic inequalities.
