Arthur Bragança is a Senior Economist in the World Bank's Environment, Natural Resources, and Blue Economy Global Practice. He received a BA in Economics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (Brazil), a Ph.D. in Economics at PUC-Rio (Brazil), and was a visiting scholar at Harvard University (USA). Before joining the World Bank, he worked as Head of Policy Evaluation at the Climate Policy Initiative, where he led numerous evaluations of the socio-environmental impacts of environmental, agricultural, and development policies in Brazil. His main professional and academic interests lie in environmental conservation, sustainable agriculture, climate-smart infrastructure, and evaluation of public policies. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), Journal of Public Economics, and Land Economics.
