Consultant - Environmental policy, climate finance, and natural resource management

Arthur Catraio joined the World Bank in 2023. He holds a Ph.D. in Government and Administration from FGV-EBAPE in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and was a visiting scholar at the University of Pretoria (South Africa). His doctoral research focused on the political economy of food security and sustainable development.

At the World Bank, he works on environmental policy, climate finance, and natural resource management, contributing to analytical and operational engagements in Brazil and across the Latin America and Caribbean region.

Before joining the World Bank, he worked in the public sector and with international organizations such as UNEP, Transparency International, WWF, and UNFPA on environmental governance, climate change and its global-health implications, and sustainable land-use policies across Latin America, Asia, North Africa, and Sub-Saharan Africa.
