Arthur Mendes

Research Consultant

Arthur Mendes has been a Research Consultant in the Development Research Group at the World Bank since 2016. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (2019). In 2016, he was a visiting student at Columbia University. His primary research field is macroeconomics, with specialization on fiscal and monetary policy, natural resources management, and growth. His doctorate research focused on the effects of unconventional monetary policy in the U.S economy. As a consultant at the World Bank, he has worked extensively on optimal fiscal and monetary policy frameworks for commodity-exporting emerging economies.
