Harinath is a Senior Environmental Engineer with World Bank's Environment, Natural Resources, and Blue Economy (ENB) Global Practice in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region. Based in Washington DC, he is leading Bank operations on environment and pollution management in Egypt, Lebanon, Iraq, and other countries. Since joining the Bank in 2007 he has worked on environmental risk management of rail, road, hydro, energy and urban infrastructure operations, and design and implementation of projects on air pollution, waste management, chemical pollution, and remediation of contaminated sites. Over the years, he has also led and contributed to several corporate and regional analytical activities of the World Bank. Prior to joining the Bank, Harinath worked over a decade with international consulting firms as Head of Urban Development and Environment Divisions.
Harinath is a graduate in Civil Engineering and holds post graduate degrees in Environmental Planning and Economics.
