Asbjorn Wee is currently Senior Strategy and Operations Officer in the Africa West and Central Vice-Presidency of the World Bank. A Norwegian national, Asbjorn was until recently the regional FCV Coordinator for Southern Africa, based in Zimbabwe. He first joined the WBG in 2003 to support the peace processes and reengagements in Sudan and Somalia. From 2007-12, while managing the International Network on Conflict and Fragility at the OECD, he developed policy guidance and advised donors on issues pertaining to post-conflict transitions. Since rejoining the WBG in 2013, Asbjorn has held different positions in the FCV unit, including as Team Leader for the recovery, peacebuilding and post-conflict transition program and as FCV coordinator for the Sahel, MENA, and East Asia.
