Ms. Ashia Bio Sawe is a Climate Finance Specialist for the Climate Finance and Economics (CFE) Unit in the Climate Change Group (CCG). In her current role, she manages Ci-Dev carbon finance projects in Ethiopia and leads the climate finance and technical assistance pillar of the Compact with Africa Green Business Fund (CwA-GBF). Additionally, she is involved in the development of the State and Trends of Carbon pricing knowledge products and reports, Article 6 Approach Papers under the Climate Warehouse, and the implementation of the Partnership for Market Implementation (PMI) activities in East Asia Pacific.
Prior to joining the Bank in 2022, Ms. Bio Sawe worked at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Regional Collaboration Center (RCC) and at the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID). She holds two master's degrees, one in Carbon Finance from the University of Edinburgh, UK.
