Ashwini Sebastian is a Senior Economist at the World Bank. Working on operations and analytics related to agriculture and food systems, she focuses on food security and resilience, cocoa and other tree crop and export diversification, digitization and technology adoption, market access, as well forests and climate change. Prior to joining the World Bank, Ashwini worked as an Economist at the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (UN-FAO), based in Rome. She has also previously worked with the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) in Washington DC. She holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural and Natural Resource Economics and MSc in Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park.
