Assel Paju has more than ten years of work in the field of strategic communications. She has worked in such countries as Kazakhstan, Papua New Guinea, the USA, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Belarus in the UN system and the World Bank. She designed and implemented communication strategies that helped to raise funds, build support for critical reforms and create lasting changes in the area of sustainable development. At the moment, Assel is a senior communications officer at the World Bank regional office in Central Asia.
