Augusto Garcia Barea is a Senior Agriculture Specialist at the World Bank where he has been working on projects and analytical work related to agricultural development, food and nutrition security, family farming, climate and nutrition smart agriculture, competitiveness, and productive alliances led by smallholder farmer organizations in Central America, Ecuador, and Serbia. Prior to joining the World Bank, Augusto worked for 16 years on rural and agricultural development programs in Central America with the Canadian and Finnish International Development Agencies. He has completed MSc studies on Farm Engineering, Environmental Management & Development, and International Relations.
