Awa Sanou is a Phd Sudent and Graduate Research Assistant in the Department of Agriculture, Food and Resource Economics at Michigan State University. Her research interests range from understanding smallholder farmers’ behavior to testing mechanisms which can nudge them to engage in productive agriculture. She is also interested in exploring risk management approaches capable to build resilient rural farming communities exposed to climate and price shocks. She has a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Middlebury College and a Master’s in Agricultural, Food and Resource Economics from Michigan State University.
