Mr. Alsaad has been in his current role as the Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors at The Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD) since September 2020.
In addition to his role at AFESD, Mr. Alsaad is also:
- A member of the Board of Directors of Blackrock
In his previous roles, Mr. Alsaad sat at the Board of Directors and was a member of the Executive Committee of the Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA) from 2003 to 2021 as well as being the Managing Director of (KIA) from 2003 until 2017.
During his extensive career in investment and finance, Mr. Alsaad had occupied several positions in both domestic and international organizations including:
- CEO of the Kuwait Financial Center (Markaz)
- Member of the Board of Directors of Kuwait Petroleum
- Founding member of the International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds (IFSWF) where he also served as the Chairman and Deputy Chairman.
- Member of the Global Advisory Counsel of Bank of America
- Member of the Supervisory Board of Mercedes Benz Group
Mr. Alsaad is a graduate of Kuwait University with a major in accounting.
