Barbara Coello is a rural economist specialized in gender and nutrition. She has been working extensively in Haiti since the earthquake of 2010, when she was involved in the preparation of the Post-Disaster Needs Assessment. She holds a PhD in economics from the Paris School of Economics- Pantheon la Sorbonne.
