Based in Abuja, Nigeria, Bayo Awosemusi leads the country dialogue on public procurement reforms, procurement implementation and procurement capacity building in the Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone portfolios with combined investments of about $17 billion. He is managing the Nigeria Sustainable Procurement, Environmental and Social Standards Enhancement Project which is the first project in the Bank that is supporting capacity building in the three key skill areas and the Procurement Component of Nigeria Fiscal Governance and Institutions Project.
He has supervised the country dialogue in Nigeria for over 20 years which led to the enactment of public procurement laws at the federal level and in 30 out of 36 Nigerian states. Bayo is currently leading the deployment of e-Procurement in all the jurisdictions in Nigeria and in Ghana and Liberia. He has worked on several analytical works including the Programmatic Fiduciary Assessment of Nigeria States 2014, Nigeria Procurement Value Chain Analysis 2013, Nigeria Private Sector Perception Survey 2008, Nigeria Country Procurement Assessment Review (CPAR) Update 2007, and co- managed the Nigeria CPAR 2000.
