As Lead Partnership Specialist, Bayo Oyewole manages the Global Infrastructure Facility’s (GIF) relationship with its funding, technical, advisory, and beneficiary partners. Bayo, a Nigerian national, joined the GIF Management Unit at its start in 2014 and has played a key role in its establishment. Prior to joining the GIF, Bayo worked for 13 years at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), most recently as Principal Operations Officer in IFC’s PPP Transaction Advisory Department where he helped African governments design and implement effective public-private partnerships. His other assignments in IFC included Acting Manager of Partnerships and Donor Relations, and Senior Operations Officer in the SME Department, the Trust Funds Department and the Evironmental and Social Development Department. Before joining IFC, Bayo worked for several years in the World Bank as Advisor, then Senior Advisor in the Office of the Executive Director. Prior to joining the World Bank Group, Bayo worked in Akintola Williams & Co, a Nigerian affiliate of Deloitte in Lagos, Nigeria. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and an MBA from the University of Maryland, College Park. Bayo is married with two sons. He serves on the board of The Advocacy Project, an international human rights advocacy non-profit organization.
