Benjamin Kushner is a Disaster Risk Management and Urban Specialist with the East Africa Urban, Resilience, and Land Unit of the World Bank. He focuses primarily on the Bank’s fragile, conflict, and violence (FCV) portfolio, based in Nairobi, Kenya. Benjamin holds a B.S. in Environmental Studies and a Master’s degrees in International Affairs and Natural Resources Management. He has more than 15 years of professional development, humanitarian program management, and operations experience. Benjamin has held various positions working in the Africa, Latin America, Southeast Asia, and the Caribbean regions, including with the World Resources Institute, Red Cross, Peace Corps, and several local and international NGOs, and has previously been based in Nigeria, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Trinidad, and Washington, D.C.
