Benjamin Reese is a Senior Operations Officer for Forced Displacement with the World Bank working across Uganda, Kenya, and Rwanda. Ben brings more than 20 years of experience across development and humanitarian issues and fragile, violent, and conflict-affected contexts. He has worked for the World Bank, bilateral donors, the private sector, and the UN system across a range of management, operational, and policy roles. Prior to joining the Bank, Ben worked for UNICEF as an Operations Specialist in Ethiopia and was AusAID’s Country Manager in Nepal where he also worked for the UN Resident Coordinator managing the UN Peace Fund for Nepal. Ben started his development career working on monitoring and evaluation issues with a market and social research company. He has an undergraduate degree in psychology, honours degree in philosophy, with a thesis on post-colonial studies, and a Masters of International and Community Development.
