Bernardo Guatimosim Alvim is a Senior Transport Specialist in the World Bank’s Latin America and the Caribbean Region, based in Brasilia. He has more than 25 years of experience in the transport sector, having previously been a technical manager of the planning division of Sao Paulo State Agency, and leader of numerous consulting assignments with government and industry.
He holds a PhD in Transport Planning from the Universidade de Sao Paulo, an MSc in Transportation Sciences from the Instituto Militar de Engenharia, and a BSc in Civil Engineering from the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro. His current assignment includes a broad section of lending and analytical activities in the transport portfolio with a focus on urban transport planning, mass transit investments, analysis of freight and logistics, and PPP project advisory.
