Bethany Kriss is a rule of law and protection consultant and led International Justice Mission’s implementation of the World Bank-funded SCOPE project in Uganda, building the capacity of justice and social protection actors to effectively respond to sexual abuse of children. A lawyer by background, Bethany has implemented justice system reform and violence prevention and response initiatives in Zambia, Uganda and Kenya, with a focus on gender-based violence and child protection. Prior to her work in Africa, she spent five years conducting global investigations and litigating major commercial disputes at an international law firm in New York City. She holds a J.D. from Cornell Law School and a B.A. from Gordon College.
