Beza Afework is a Consultant in the Enterprise Analysis Unit of the World Bank. Her research interests include international trade, growth and development economics, with a particular interest in Sub-Saharan Africa. Her work uses firm- and country-level data to study how trade policy and regulatory reforms shape firm outcomes and labor market participation in developing countries. Prior to joining the unit, she worked as a research assistant at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Africa Business Center. She holds an MA in Economics from Howard University, where she is currently pursuing a PhD in Economics.
