Bindu Ananth is the Chair of IFMR Finance Foundation. She worked with ICICI Bank in their microfinance practice between 2001 and 2005 where she co-designed the bank’s ‘partnership model’ for wholesale financing of MFIs and was head of the new product development group within the bank’s rural finance business in 2007. She is also the founder of the Centre for Micro Finance, IFMR Research. Bindu has an undergraduate degree in Economics from Madras University and master’s degrees from the Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA) and Harvard University’s Kennedy School. She has published in the Small Enterprise Development Journal, the Economic and Political Weekly, the OECD working paper series, the ADB working paper series and the Financial Access Initiative (FAI) framing notes series.
