Binta Massaquoi, an Education Specialist with the World Bank Group, has a long-standing career and focus on development in Liberia. She currently works on the Liberia Education Portfolio based in Monrovia, covering interventions in early childhood, primary, and secondary education, and crosscutting areas such as safe schools, girls’ education, and workforce development. Before this assignment, she served as Director for Planning and M&E at the Liberia Ministry of Education. From 2015 to 2018 she led the development and monitoring of ministry programs supported by the Government and donor partners. In addition to this, she served as a core member of the ministerial team that developed a model for Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in Liberia, aimed at improving learning outcomes at the primary level. Also, from 2008 to 2011 she was responsible for the administration of all educational and cultural exchange programs deriving from the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
