Binta Massaquoi is an Education Specialist with the World Bank Group, based in Monrovia, where she co-leads the Liberia Education Portfolio covering interventions in Early childhood Education, primary and secondary education, and crosscutting areas such as safe schools, girls’ education, and workforce management. Before this assignment, she served as Director for Planning and M&E at the Liberia Ministry of Education and led the development and monitoring of ministry programs supported by the Government and donor partners from 2015 -2018. In addition to this, she served as a core member of the ministerial team that developed a model for Public Private Partnerships (PPP) in Liberia, aimed at improving learning outcomes at the primary level. From 2008 to 2011 she served as the education and cultural affairs assistant at the United States Embassy in Monrovia where she was responsible for the administration of all educational and cultural exchange programs deriving from the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Ms. Massaquoi has a long-standing career and focus on development in Liberia and holds a master’s in Education from Makerere University.
