Biruk Tekle Gebreyohannes has been serving at the World Bank Ethiopia Country office as higher education and TVET consultant since September 2017. Currently, he is working on two regional projects; Eastern and Southern African Higher Education Centers of Excellence project (ACE II) and East Africa Skills for Transformation and Regional Integration Project (EASTRIP). Prior to joining the Education Global Practice, he took part in researches focusing on education, private sector development, urban development, youth unemployment, industrial policy and large-scale impact evaluation projects. His main areas of research include among others labour economics, industrial and firm level studies and applied micro level studies. On top of this, he has served as a consultant for both local and international organizations. Biruk holds a master’s degree in Economics.
