Bistra Dilkina is an Associate Director for the Center on AI in Society at the University of Southern California and an Assistant Professor of Computer Science. She is one of the young leaders in the growing field of Computational Sustainability, bringing computational tools, methods and approaches to bear in applications related to sustainable developments. Her focus area is Artificial Intelligence, spanning both machine learning and optimization for decision making, with applications in biodiversity conservation, disaster resilient infrastructure planning, land cover mapping, and human migration under climate change.
